Azerbaijan's green energy exports will be directed unequivocally toward Europe, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov said in an interview with Report during the Belgrade Energy Forum, Report informs.
Soltanov emphasized the strategic role of the Caspian Sea, which provides both oil and gas reserves as well as wind resources:
"These resources allow us to meet domestic needs and also export. Our infrastructure is already oriented toward Europe, so the surplus green energy will also head there. This could be via the Black Sea, through Türkiye, or particularly from Nakhchivan, where such a project is being developed."
