Cuba plans to reduce territorial inequality, achieve energy independence by 2036

Cuba aims to create a polycentric and balanced territorial-urban system by 2036, Cuban Ambassador to Azerbaijan Carlos Enrique Valdés de la Concepción said at a ministerial roundtable during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, according to Report.

"Ensuring access to decent housing for everyone must become a reality. It is essential to recognize the scale and complexity of various environmental challenges, particularly in developing countries, when implementing financial programs aimed at improving urban settlements. This right is enshrined in the Constitution.

Over the past ten years, we have continued to defend social cohesion and citizen security. Therefore, by 2036, Cuba remains committed to its long-term strategic vision: to create a polycentric and balanced territorial-urban system that will reduce territorial inequality, be resilient to climate change, and ensure energy independence through the use of renewable energy sources," the diplomat emphasized.
