BP workforce in Azerbaijan totals 2,363 local employees

BP employed a total of 2,363 Azerbaijani nationals at the end of the second quarter of 2026, including staff working under fixed-term contracts, according to BP Azerbaijan's business report for the first half of the year.

This represents a decrease of 32 employees, or 1.3%, compared with the same period in 2025.

Since mid-2018, Azerbaijani nationals have accounted for 90% of BP's professional workforce in the country, while all non-professional positions have been filled entirely by local employees.

BP said it will continue to strengthen its training and professional development programs and actively participate in public and private sector initiatives aimed at expanding the pool of highly qualified local specialists.

At the end of the second quarter of 2025, BP employed 2,395 Azerbaijani nationals, including fixed-term contract staff.
