BP increased ACG associated gas supplies to SOCAR by almost 29% in 1Q25

BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited transferred 0.9 billion cubic meters of associated gas produced at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in the first quarter of 2025, Report informs referring to BP-Azerbaijan.

In the first quarter of 2024, associated gas supplies from ACG to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.7 billion cubic meters. Thus, in January-March 2024, their volume increased by 28.6%.

BP supplied SOCAR with an average of 11 million cubic meters of associated gas per day during the first quarter of 2025 (an average of 7.4 million cubic meters per day in January-March 2024). The remaining volume of associated gas produced from the ACG block was reinjected into the reservoir to maintain pressure, the company notes.

Associated gas from the ACG block is transferred to SOCAR free of charge. The contract for the development of the Azeri, Chirag and deepwater Gunashli fields was signed in 1994. It was set to expire in 2024; in September 2017, a new contract was signed until 2050. The project operator is BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited.
