Türkiye-Azerbaijan energy cooperation strengthens access to regional and global markets, Türkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said at the 5th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum held in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan have a unique character.
"Our relations are not ordinary neighborly relations, nor are they limited to any kind of trade partnership. These relations are based on unbreakable brotherhood, mutual trust and the achievements we have made throughout history. Therefore, we do not see this forum simply as a gathering of the energy sectors of two countries. It is actually a strategic platform where we envision our shared future under the motto 'One nation, two states' and turn this vision into concrete projects," Bayraktar said.
Bayraktar noted that energy is one of the most concrete and important areas of the strong ties between the two countries.
"Looking back today, we see how important both the number and quality of projects jointly implemented by the two countries have become. Our cooperation in natural gas, our partnership in hydrocarbons, and the pipelines that enable Azerbaijan's energy resources to reach regional and global markets through our country are among the most important examples of our cooperation. These projects are more than the transportation of energy resources from one country to another; they are concrete examples of the trust our countries have in each other, our long-term vision and our determination to act together," he said.
He added that energy cooperation is not limited to oil and natural gas.
"We continue to strengthen cooperation between our institutions across a very broad range of areas, from mining to renewable energy, from hydrocarbons to energy efficiency, and from electricity markets to transmission and distribution," Bayraktar said.
