In March 2027, Baku will host an APRECA event aimed at attracting investors and partners for the member states of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), IRENA Director-General Francesco La Camera said during the opening ceremony of Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026).
According to Report, he noted that the IRENA Accelerated Partnership for Renewable Energy in Central Asia (APRECA), which was launched at COP29 in Baku, facilitates the attraction of investments, the development of regional connectivity, and the ensuring of sustainable growth.
Among the active participants in the partnership, La Camera named Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
"Developing this cooperation, in June of this year, on the sidelines of Baku Energy Week, IRENA, together with Azerbaijan, organized the Central Asia Investment Forum. As its continuation, an APRECA matchmaking event for participating countries is scheduled again in Baku for March 2027. This will create an additional opportunity to connect renewable energy projects with investors and to deepen regional interaction," La Camera stated.
