Since its launch, the Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum gas pipeline (also known as South Caucasus Pipeline) has delivered nearly 86 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye, the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan told Report.
The pipeline has been in operation for 19 years, transporting gas from the Shah Deniz gas‑condensate field to the Turkish market.
The South Caucasus Pipeline carries gas extracted from the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan's sector of the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. Commissioned at the end of 2006, it initially transported gas from Phase I of Shah Deniz. Since summer 2018, gas from Phase II has also been delivered through the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline to Türkiye, where it connects to the TANAP pipeline.
