Baku Higher Oil School hosts 10th Graduation Day

Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) celebrated its 10th Graduation Day today at the Gulustan Palace, Report informs, citing the university's statement.
Addressing the anniversary ceremony, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov extended his congratulations to the graduates and wished them continued success in their future endeavors. He noted that, having acquired comprehensive knowledge and practical skills throughout their studies, the graduates are now embarking on a new chapter of their lives as qualified professionals. The Rector emphasized that some of this year's graduates have already been employed, while others have been admitted to prestigious universities around the world and awarded competitive scholarships. He expressed confidence that the graduates will make meaningful contributions to the development and prosperity of Azerbaijan.
SOCAR Vice President Ziba Mustafayeva also congratulated the graduates, highlighting that their achievements are a testament to BHOS's continued success in fulfilling its mission of educating highly qualified professionals since the university's establishment.
Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev and Rector of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology of Uzbekistan, Botir Usmonov, also addressed the ceremony, congratulating the graduates and wishing them every success in their future careers.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Maya Karimova, a graduate of the Business Administration specialty, shared her reflections on the BHOS experience. Elvira Maminova and Khilola Nurumbetova, graduates of the dual degree program implemented in cooperation with partner universities in Uzbekistan, also delivered remarks on behalf of the international students.
During the ceremony, Gulay Nazarova, an Information Security graduate who was recognized as the Best BHOS Graduate of 2026 and awarded the prestigious "Student of the Year" title, engraved her name on the Symbolic Stump.
The event continued with the presentation of diplomas, followed by a cultural and artistic program.
This year, a total of 407 students graduated from BHOS, including 218 bachelor's and 189 master's degree students. Among them, 59 bachelor's graduates and 28 master's graduates completed their studies with honors.
This year, for the first time, BHOS students graduated from the Business Administration and Computer Engineering bachelor's programs. In addition, 16 students from Uzbekistan received master's degrees under the dual degree program jointly implemented with the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and Bukhara State Technical University.
This year's graduating class at BHOS also includes 23 international students from Uzbekistan, Russia, Somalia, Yemen, Georgia, Bangladesh, and Kazakhstan.
