Bahreini minister: Housing is a cornerstone of public safety

Housing provision is a cornerstone for the security of various societies, Bahrain's Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amna Alrumaihi said at the ministerial roundtable held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

Report quotes her as saying today's event coincides with a critical stage when 2.8 billion people live in unsatisfactory conditions: "This requires strengthening international cooperation and developing innovative, sustainable plans that will ensure everyone can obtain their rights. We believe that adequate housing provision is a cornerstone for the security of our societies, which is in line with our Economic Vision 2030 document and our government program. To implement this, Bahrain has adopted a comprehensive approach based on urban regeneration."

She added that Bahrain is working in parallel to improve partnership projects – public-private partnerships – to ensure the finding of strong and innovative solutions: "At the same time, we are striving to ensure that real estate construction companies offer housing at affordable prices."
