Azerbaijanis' fuel spending exceeded 2 billion AZN in 1H2026

In January–June 2026, consumers in Azerbaijan purchased 2.038 billion manats (approximately $1.2 billion) worth of motor gasoline and diesel fuel through the retail trade network, marking 5.2% increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, 6.3% of consumer spending was directed toward fuel purchases.

In the first six months of the year, Azerbaijan's retail trade network sold goods worth 32.4 billion manats (approximately $19.06 billion) in total, including 17.6 billion manats (just over $10.35 billion) in food, beverages, and tobacco products, and 14.8 billion manats (just over $8.7 billion) in non-food items.

Compared to the same period last year, the country's retail trade turnover grew by 3.7% in real terms – food, beverages, and tobacco by 1.4%, and non-food items by 6.5%.
