Azerbaijan transported 14.77 million tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline in January-July 2026, according to the State Statistical Committee, cited by Report.
The volume was 8.5% lower than in the first seven months of 2025. During the reporting period, 76.8% of oil transportation was carried out through the BTC pipeline.
Of the oil transported via BTC, 82.3%, or 12.15 million tons, consisted of oil produced in Azerbaijan. The remaining 17.7%, or 2.62 million tons, came from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
The volume of Azerbaijani oil transported through BTC decreased by 10%, while shipments of oil from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan fell by 1.03% year-on-year.
The BTC pipeline primarily transports oil produced at Azerbaijan's Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. It also carries other crude oil and condensate volumes, including oil from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
The ACG project is owned by BP (30.37%), SOCAR (31.65%), MOL Group (9.57%), INPEX (9.31%), ExxonMobil (6.79%), TPAO (5.73%), ITOCHU (3.65%) and ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) (2.92%).
