Azerbaijan's urea production falls 15.4%

Azerbaijan produced 363,000 tons of urea in January-August 2026.
According to Report, citing the State Statistical Committee, this was 15.4% less than in the first eight months of 2025.
Urea, a nitrogen fertilizer, is produced at the SOCAR Carbamide Plant in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was commissioned on January 16, 2019, and has an annual production capacity of 650,000-660,000 tons of urea, using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas as feedstock.
About 70% of its output is intended for export.
As of September 1, the plant had 74,500 tons of finished products in stock.
