Azerbaijan's methanol exports surge in 1H2024

Azerbaijan exported just under 231,253 tons of methanol, valued at just over $45.8 million in the first half of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.
According to the obtained data, the exports grew by 9.2 percent in volume and fell by 2.1 percent in value when compared to the same period in 2023.
The share of methanol in Azerbaijan's non-oil exports was 2.87% while the share of primary methanol in the country's total exports stood at 0.36%.
Overall, Azerbaijan's foreign trade exceeded $21.768 billion in the initial six months of 2024, representing a 16.8% decline year-on-year. Of that, $12.901 billion accounted for exports and just over $8.867 billion fell to imports.
