Azerbaijan increases polypropylene exports by over 63%

Azerbaijan exported 10,628.75 tons of polypropylene in a primary form worth $9,647,790 million in January 2023, respectively, up 63.5% and down 6.4%, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
The share of polypropylene in Azerbaijan's non-oil exports amounted to 3.39 %. During the reporting period, the percentage of polypropylene in a primary form in the country's total exports amounted to 0.51%.
Polypropylene is produced at the Polypropylene Plant of SOCAR Polymer LLC, with an annual production capacity of 184,000 tons. The plant's opening took place on July 18, 2018, in the presence of Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Italy Sergio Mattarella.
