Azerbaijan increases gas supplies to Europe by 19%

In January-February 2023, Azerbaijan sold 4.3 billion cubic meters of gas abroad, 13% more year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s Energy Ministry.
In the first two months of this year, Azerbaijan sold 1.9 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, 1.7 billion cubic meters to Türkiye, and 0.7 billion cubic meters to Georgia.
Compared to the first two months of 2022, gas sales to Europe increased by 0.3 billion cubic meters or 18.7%.
Gas sales to Türkiye increased by 0.2 billion cubic meters, or 13.3%, while sales to Georgia remained at the same level as last year.
Over the past two months, about 0.9 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to Türkiye through the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP).
Transportation of commercial gas to Türkiye through TANAP began on June 30, 2018.
Currently, the capacity of the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP), the European part of the Southern Gas Corridor, through which Azerbaijani gas is transported to southern Europe, is 12 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
