Azerbaijan increases electricity imports by 20%

In January this year, imports of electricity to Azerbaijan amounted to 11 million kWh, which is 1.8 million kWh or 19.5 percent more than in the same period last year, Report informs, referring to the Ministry of Energy.
Last month, 3.3 million kWh were imported from Iran, 7.7 million kWh from Russia, and 0.004 million kWh from Georgia.
Electricity exports for the reporting period increased by 61.6 million kWh in annual terms - to 175.1 million kWh. During the month, 3.4 million kWh of electricity was exported to Iran, 12.7 million kWh to Turkey, 7.2 million kWh to Russia, and 151.8 million kWh to Georgia.
