Azerbaijan increased gas transportation via TANAP by 25% in January

In January 2025, Azerbaijan exported 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Europe, Report informs, citing the operational data released by the country's Ministry of Energy.

Compared to January 2024, gas sales to Europe decreased by 0.1 billion cubic meters or 9.09%.

Overall, Azerbaijan's gas exports in January amounted to 2 billion cubic meters, which is 0.3 billion cubic meters or 13.04% less compared to the same period last year.

Last month, Azerbaijan sold 0.7 billion cubic meters of gas to Türkiye and 0.3 billion cubic meters to Georgia. Gas exports to Türkiye decreased by 0.1 billion cubic meters or 12.5%, and to Georgia by 0.1 billion cubic meters or 25% during the year.

During the reporting period, nearly 0.5 billion cubic meters of gas were transported to Türkiye via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), 0.1 billion cubic meters or 25% more compared to the previous year.

Currently, the transmission capacity of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which is the European part of the Southern Gas Corridor transporting Azerbaijani gas to southern Europe, is 12 billion cubic meters.
