Azerbaijan exports 16.4 bcm of natural gas in eight months

Azerbaijan exported 16.378 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January-August 2026, according to customs declarations.

Report informs, citing statistics from the State Customs Committee, that the value of the natural gas exports amounted to $5.711 billion.

Compared with the first eight months of 2025, the volume of natural gas exports decreased by 0.5%, while their value declined by 4.8%.

During the reporting period, natural gas accounted for 26.18% of Azerbaijan's total exports.

In January-August this year, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $33.238 billion. Exports accounted for $21.815 billion of the foreign trade turnover, while imports amounted to $11.423 billion.

Over the past year, exports increased by 27.8%, while imports declined by 24.1%.
