Azerbaijan and EU mull investments in green energy sector

Azerbaijan and the European Union discussed partnership and investment opportunities in the energy sector, Report informs with reference to the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The topics were discussed during the Azerbaijan-EU roundtable on "Investments in Green Connectivity" in Baku, which was held alongside the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council.

The roundtable was attended by Deputy Ministers of Energy of Azerbaijan Orkhan Zeynalov and Elnur Soltanov, as well as Director of the Energy Platform and International Relations Group of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy (ENER) Cristina Lobillo Borrero and Director for Eastern Neighbourhood and Türkiye of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement (DG ENEST) Adrienn Király.

The main topic of discussion was cooperation in the areas of green connectivity, renewable energy projects, electrical grids, energy efficiency, and energy storage.

Represented at the roundtable were the State Agency for Renewable Energy, the Energy Regulatory Agency, GECO Power Company, Green Corridor Alliance, SOCAR Green, Azerenergy OJSC, Siemens Energy, Total Energies, Nobel Energy, Azerbaijan Green Energy Company, ACWA Power, Masdar, ENERCON, EBRD, ADB, IFC, and the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce.
