Alparslan Bayraktar: Great opportunities exist for implementing green energy projects

Türkiye and Azerbaijan have great opportunities to implement green energy projects.

Report informs that Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said this in a statement to journalists at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.

"Due to the recent crises related to energy security, countries are now looking for ways to ensure the secure supply of energy resources. In this sense, renewable energy sources are a very important resource for countries. Of course, some countries, such as Azerbaijan, have great green energy potential," he stressed.

Bayraktar emphasized that the green energy sector should be supported in two directions.

"First, countries need to have a very strong electricity transmission system. In other words, energy infrastructure must be strong. Second, this should be brought together through mutual projects. Türkiye and Azerbaijan have great opportunities in this area. The project I referred to as an electricity version of TANAP is, in fact, designed to deliver electricity generated from green energy from Azerbaijan to Türkiye and from there to Europe. We will implement this project under strong leadership," he said.
