Guevara: Over 8,000 Azerbaijani citizens received higher education in US

More than 8,000 Azerbaijani citizens have received higher education in the US over the past few decades, US Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Hugo Guevara told journalists on the sidelines of the EducationUSA graduate fair, Report informs.

He noted that the US continues to be one of the most attractive destinations for students from all over the world to receive education.

"It is gratifying to realize that the US continues to be a magnet for international students. Last year alone, American universities accepted more than 1.1 million international students, including over 1,100 from Azerbaijan," the diplomat noted.

He stressed that graduates of American universities play an important role in the development of Azerbaijan.

"I am sure that this experience has become an investment in the future of their country for them," Guevara added.
