The University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan (OʻzJOKU) and Baku State University (BSU) have launched a new joint project.
OʻzJOKU Rector Sherzodkhon Kudratkhoja told a Report correspondent in Tashkent that the project is aimed at supporting master's students. In particular, each student will have two academic supervisors-one from Azerbaijan and one from Uzbekistan-when preparing their research papers.
"Last year, I visited Baku State University. First and foremost, we plan to develop joint work with master's students, and we have already begun cooperation in this area. Each student will have two supervisors: one from Uzbekistan and one from Azerbaijan. Cooperation will continue to develop," he said.
According to Kudratkhoja, more than 100 Azerbaijani students are currently studying at OʻzJOKU, and their number continues to grow.
"We work very well with them. They are capable, intelligent and wonderful young people. Enrollment will be even higher this year. The number of students is increasing year by year," the rector said.
He identified student and faculty exchange programs as another important area of educational cooperation.
"We speak the same language, understand each other, share a common history, and have excellent economic opportunities. Young people should feel this," Kudratkhoja emphasized.
