Azerbaijan to have 2.2 million learners in 2026/2027 academic year

Azerbaijan will have 2.2 million learners in the 2026/2027 academic year, Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev said.

According to Report, he made the remarks at a press conference dedicated to the new academic year.

Amrullayev said 124,000 pupils will begin first grade in the current academic year.

The minister added that 11 new preschool education institutions and four new general education schools will begin operating in the liberated territories in the new academic year.

Amrullayev also said more than 7 million copies of textbooks had been printed and delivered to schools before the start of the new academic year.
