Azerbaijan marks Knowledge Day as new academic year begins

Azerbaijan is marking Knowledge Day today as classes begin across all educational institutions in the country on September 15.

According to Report, 2.2 million learners will study in Azerbaijan during the 2026/2027 academic year.

More than 130,000 children will attend first grade in the new academic year.

A total of 75,000 students have been admitted to all levels of higher education for the new academic year.

Under an order of the Ministry of Science and Education on the organization of the 2026/2027 academic year in general education institutions, the first lesson for all pupils in grades 2–11 across the country will be dedicated to the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture."
