The Pakistani government has increased its ambitions to achieve its emissions reduction target by 2030, interim Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai, according to Report.
Climate change is an existential threat to humanity, he said, adding that Pakistan suffered severe floods last year.
At COP 27 in Glasgow, Pakistan strengthened its ambitions with a revised National Contribution, he said.
According to the prime minister, this year Pakistan has introduced a comprehensive national plan on this issue and also launched an initiative to take care of climate and nature.
