Continuously improving the legal framework and legislative mechanisms to meet modern challenges is crucial to achieving sustainable development results, Azerbaijani MP Fatma Yildirim said at the WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
She emphasized that expanding legislative initiatives in the areas of environmental safety, green economy, waste management, and energy efficiency is of particular strategic importance for the country's future.
The MP emphasized that sustainability should be viewed not only as a concept but also as a key priority of state policy and the legislative system.
"Today, sustainability has become a key pillar of economic development, social responsibility, and effective governance. Challenges such as climate change, urbanization, and resource scarcity facing the world demonstrate that the future development model must be built on the principles of a sustainable approach. In this context, holding the WUF13 forum in Baku is particularly significant. This forum is an indicator of Azerbaijan's growing influence on international platforms, its active participation in the global development agenda, and its modern urban development policy. Azerbaijan also acts as a responsible partner supporting sustainable development initiatives," Yildirim noted.
