Zahid Jafarov: Armenia's policy roward Western Azerbaijanis constitutes genocide

Armenia's policy toward Western Azerbaijanis throughout different historical periods should be characterized as genocide, Zahid Jafarov, Member of the Board and Chairman of the Legal Commission of the Western Azerbaijan Community, said at the event titled "Return to Western Azerbaijan: Restoration of Historical Justice and Human Rights."

Report quotes Jafarov as saying the policy was based on ethnic hostility and the intention to eliminate an entire people.

"The concept of genocide includes both physical and moral destruction. In many cases, moral destruction can be even more dangerous than physical destruction. Armenia's policy toward Western Azerbaijanis during various periods was based on ethnic hostility. Returning to Western Azerbaijan is our right. We will return to Western Azerbaijan in a peaceful, safe, and dignified manner," Jafarov said.
