Umayra Taghiyeva: Tree registration system introduced in Baku

Green infrastructure plays an important role in reducing urban overheating, capturing pollutants, and improving quality of life, Umayra Taghiyeva, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, said during an event held within the framework of World Urban Forum 13 in Baku.

According to Report, she noted that large-scale projects for the registration and numbering of trees in Baku were implemented on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union.

According to her, the projects are being implemented jointly by ministries, executive authorities, and municipalities.

It was noted that such a registration system makes it possible not only to monitor the condition of each tree, but also to effectively plan further greening of urban areas.
