Sadig Gurbanov: Global community trusts Azerbaijan as safe nation

Taking into account that Azerbaijan is a safe country, global community agrees to hold major international events here, said Sadig Gurbanov, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Committee for Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, Report informs.

Gurbanov made the statement during the international conference under the theme Shaping Human Capital for Sustainable and Resilient Urban Development held within the Baku Urban Week, jointly organized by Baku State University and the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan.

He noted that today the world faces global threats: "There are ecological problems, water scarcity, and challenges influenced by human factors. One of them is urban planning, which is essentially a vision for the future. The cities of tomorrow must not only meet today's needs but also ensure that future generations live in a safe and environmentally clean environment. Therefore, sustainable and resilient city models must be built."

The MP emphasized that Azerbaijan's efforts are recognized internationally: "The fair struggle Azerbaijan has carried out in many areas is acknowledged. As a safe country, Azerbaijan is entrusted with hosting major conferences."

Gurbanov added that the number of young specialists in Azerbaijan is increasing and that noteworthy achievements in science are being made.
