Rashad Hasanov: Mechanisms for continuous social media monitoring must be introduced

Continuous monitoring and control mechanisms should be introduced on social media platforms, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Hasanov said during discussions in parliament on a package of amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, as well as the laws "On Information, Informatization and Information Protection" and "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information."

Report quotes him as saying the list of social platforms subject to regulation will be determined by the relevant executive authorities, as provided for in the draft law.

"We believe this list should be regularly reviewed and monitored. Technologies are developing very rapidly. We do not know what challenges we will face in just a few months. That is why it is important to introduce mechanisms for continuous monitoring and control," the deputy minister stressed.
