Rashad Azizov: Azerbaijan should use UNESCO network as practical tool

In Baku, creative activity is gradually expanding beyond a single center and developing across a wider geography through a network of public and local spaces, Rashad Azizov, Director General of the Azerbaijan Film Agency, said during discussions within the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying creative communities need spaces not only for living, but also for production and collaborative work.

He emphasized that the development of such spaces plays an important role in shaping a sustainable urban environment and supporting creative industries.

In conclusion, the head of the agency stated that the UNESCO Creative Cities Network should be viewed by Azerbaijan not only as a mechanism for international recognition, but also as a practical tool for project implementation, monitoring, comparative analysis, experience exchange with partner cities, and the sustainable development of creative communities.
