President: The military potential in Nakhchivan is being strengthened day by day

The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is developing comprehensively, President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijan Television in Nakhchivan, according to Report.

The head of state noted that this is his 17th visit to Nakhchivan as President, and each of his visits has been of great significance and produced important results.

"Over these years, many important projects have been implemented, and the overall development of Nakhchivan has been ensured. Today's events are, in a sense, a continuation of the work accomplished, and naturally, the necessary decisions will continue to be made in the future to ensure the rapid socio-economic development of Nakhchivan," President Ilham Aliyev said.

He noted that over these years, strengthening Nakhchivan's defense potential was one of the foremost priorities: "This army is, naturally, an integral part of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan. However, Nakhchivan's specific circumstances, its geography, and the absence of a geographical connection with mainland Azerbaijan have led us to pay greater attention to the security of this region, of the autonomous republic, and this will always be the case. Therefore, this is the primary condition. As I noted today, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan have a decisive say in the region. In particular, the military potential in Nakhchivan is being strengthened day by day and will continue to be strengthened."
