President: Azerbaijan's role in regional affairs is growing

Today, Azerbaijan's role in regional matters is growing, President Ilham Aliyev said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum themed "The Mission of Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust," Report informs.

The head of state noted that Azerbaijan's trustworthiness and sincerity play a significant role in this:

"Those who approach us know that our position is transparent. We have always sincerely helped wherever we could. This has become a tradition. If we have the capacity, we provide assistance. Today, we can provide both material and political assistance. Confidential information does not leak. If there is a leak, it does not originate from us."

Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is honest with all parties:

"This is our pride. Our relations are built on trust, and this enables us to be useful. This has also become an important factor in regional politics. Naturally, today Azerbaijan's role in regional matters is growing. Our position is constructive. We will continue to do our best to help and mediate wherever we can."

The head of state pointed out that the Non-Aligned Movement comprises 120 countries:

"Some of them have conflicts with each other. Some are at war with each other. They unanimously voted for Azerbaijan. We naturally conducted presentations about ourselves during the election period. Over three years, we proved that we deliver results. When problems arose in the election of a new chair, they turned to us, and we were elected as chair for an additional year. This is the trust and confidence in us at the regional level. We are tight-lipped on these matters."
