Chairman of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Bar Association (ABA) Anar Bagirov said that the number of women lawyers in the ABA has tripled over the past four years, Report informs.
According to him, 254 women have joined the Bar in recent years:
"Currently, 381 women attorneys work in Baku and the regions. But we would like the number of women lawyers, which presently stands at 18%, to increase because in other countries the number of women is equal to the number of men."
Bagirov stressed there there is a gender balance at the faculty of law at universities, but later some of the women do not work for some reasons.
"As a result, we are deprived of the potential female attorneys we need. I invite all women lawyers to work."
