New technologies will be used in the search for mass graves, Gazanfar Ahmadov, Secretary of the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons and Head of the Working Group, said at the international conference on "Enhancing Cooperation and Advancing Modern Approaches in Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons," Report informs.
According to him, negotiations are already being held with international companies and representative offices in this regard, and certain agreements have been reached:
"Another important advantage of the technologies is their mapping capabilities. In a single day, they can prepare a detailed map of an area exceeding 45 square kilometers. Practically speaking, this means that a vast territory like Aghdam can be systematically surveyed in just one or two months. We believe that this modern technology will become an integral part of future humanitarian search operations. This technology will complement the experience and professionalism of our specialists and help us achieve more effective results in clarifying the fate of missing persons."
Gazanfar Ahmadov stated that modern digital tools will significantly strengthen the activities of the State Commission and further expand capabilities in the field of clarifying the fate of missing persons:
"I also express my sincere gratitude to all state agencies involved in identifying possible burial sites, conducting excavation and exhumation works, identifying human remains, and organizing the burial ceremonies of identified missing persons."
