Azerbaijan is among the countries most affected by mines, Sadig Gurbanov, chairman of the Milli Majlis committee on natural resources, energy and ecology, said during a discussion on "Human rights-based climate justice: the role of national human rights institutions" on the sidelines of COP29.
Report quotes him as saying Azerbaijan faces the task of clearing territories from about 1.5 million mines laid by Armenia in Karabakh.
"Azerbaijan does not get sufficient support regarding this problem and carries out large-scale demining activities all by itself. Our country has acquired specific knowledge and experience, and is ready to share them with other countries," said Gurbanov.
