Elections to Milli Majlis- Interior Ministry prepares special action plan

Central election Commission and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan held the final event of the seminar on improving the activities of police officers in connection with the upcoming February 9 snap parliamentary elections.

Report informs that CEC member Ilham Mammadov, deputy head of the Interior Ministry's Department of Public Security Aziz Bagishev, chairmen of district election commissions, as well as representatives of city and district police and OSCE representatives attended the event.

Aziz Bagishev, Deputy head of the Main Public Security Department of the Interior Ministry, developed a particular action plan and took all the necessary security measures to ensure public security and public order in connection with the elections.

The event also discussed issues related to the protection of election documents, delivery of election documents to the district election commissions on the day of voting, and then to the polling stations. The participants also noted that the establishment of public order after the voting is the functional responsibility of the Azerbaijani police.
