Interest in the Azerbaijani language is quite high among Egyptians, Umara Israilova, a participant of the 7th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, told Report.
Israilova, who graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Baku State University with a degree in Arabic translation, said she has been living in Egypt for the past year and a half.
"I moved to Egypt to improve my language skills and completed language courses there. I will begin my master's studies in September. I currently teach the Azerbaijani language to Egyptians at the Egypt–Azerbaijan Friendship Society. Interest in the Azerbaijani language among Egyptians is quite high. There is no age limit for our courses," she said.
Israilova noted that people of different age groups are learning Azerbaijani.
"In addition to Azerbaijani language classes, Quran lessons, Azerbaijani carpet weaving, and English and Arabic language courses are also offered. These opportunities are available not only to Azerbaijanis and Egyptians but also to citizens of other countries. At present, around 100 students are enrolled in the Azerbaijani language group that I teach. After completing my studies, I plan to return to Azerbaijan and work in the field of Arabic studies as an Arabist," she added.
