Ilham Aliyev: "Mother tongue is a key factor; mother tongue unites all Azerbaijani citizens"

"We want the second and the third generations of Azerbaijanis to be connected to their culture. However, this is not an easy task," Report informs that President Ilham Aliyev told the 5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis.

The president said that first of all, they should know the Azerbaijani language. "It is possible to keep the Azerbaijani language alive only in families, but this is not enough. Therefore, we are always ready to help with the opening of Azerbaijani-language schools and Sunday schools, and in fact, we do it. Maybe, we need to do it in a more organized way. Because the mother tongue is a key factor. The native language unites all Azerbaijani citizens. Young Azerbaijanis living abroad should know the history of the Second Karabakh War well. They must convey these truths to their friends."
