Hikmat Hajiyev: Azerbaijan is firm advocate of regional ownership

Azerbaijan has been a firm advocate of regional ownership from the very beginning, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, said at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF2026), Report informs.

"Honored to speak at ADF2026 on 'Role of Regional Ownership in a Transforming World.' In an era of growing polarization and declining trust in international relations, regional ownership has become a strategic necessity and responsibility. For us, it also consists of regional leadership, regional inclusivity, and shared regional responsibility. Azerbaijan has been a firm advocate of regional ownership from the very beginning," Hajiyev wrote on X.

According to him, from the Azerbaijan-Türkiye partnership as a cornerstone of regional security, to expanded formats such as Azerbaijan–Georgia-Türkiye, Azerbaijan-Iran-Türkiye, and broader engagements with neighboring regions, "these efforts reflect how institutionalized regional cooperation can deliver stability and prosperity."
