Early warning systems and the concept of climate-resilient cities represent a comprehensive approach that combines scientific forecasting, advanced technologies, and social inclusivity, Hijran Huseynova, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs, said at the event "Early Warning Systems and Climate-Resilient Cities" within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.
According to Report, Huseynova emphasized the importance of early warning systems in protecting cities from climate threats.
"They are vital for protecting cities from extreme weather events, reducing economic losses, and ensuring the safety of vulnerable groups - especially in the context of interconnected risks such as heat, floods, droughts, and landslides. Smart city technologies are essential for real-time monitoring and taking action hours before an event occurs," she noted.
