Hajiyev: Dignified return of former IDPs is among Azerbaijan's key goals

Ensuring that former internally displaced persons (IDPs) can return to their homelands with dignity and a lasting sense of security is one of the main objectives of Azerbaijan, Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, said during an event held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.

According to Hajiyev, the region has significant solar energy potential, and buildings are largely equipped with solar panels: "In Karabakh and East Zangazur, we are not only focused on construction but also on ensuring proper management of villages. For this purpose, one of the systems we use daily is a smart management system built on a GIS platform. All villages and towns are integrated into this system, allowing us to monitor everything from houses to gas pipelines."

He added that all land plots, buildings, roads, and utility lines have been digitally mapped with precise coordinates: "This system enables faster decision-making and helps manage future development more efficiently. It also strengthens coordination among institutions and allows direct implementation of changes in line with new scenarios."
