Azerbaijan remains committed to strengthening cooperation in urban development, said Gulshan Rzayeva, Deputy Chief of Staff of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan and Deputy National Coordinator of WUF13, during the Gatherings Assembly at the 13th Session of World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
She emphasized that WUF13 is not only about technical discussions but also a political contribution process: "The future of cities is not solely in the hands of governments. It is the work of everyone, of all communities. Urban development can only be achieved when all sectors join hands."
Rzayeva underlined that all discussions must be translated into implementation: "As the host country, Azerbaijan strongly believes in turning globally accepted principles into practical steps. While the world evaluates the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and accelerates efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, we hope that the discussions held in Baku will make a significant contribution."
