Gulchohra Mammadova: Baku has extensive experience in solving urban development problems

Baku has extensive experience in addressing urban planning, urban development, and housing policy, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, said at the international conference "Shaping Human Capital for Sustainable and Resilient Urban Development" in Baku, Report informs.

According to her, the country is currently focused on the issue raised by the World Urban Forum.

"These issues are being discussed, solutions are being sought, and the importance of this issue for humanity is being recognized. The UN has been focusing on urban development and resettlement issues for 50 years. Since the adoption of the UN-Habitat program in 1978, this issue has been reflected in a number of activities and recommendations. The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is one such event where we learn about key innovations," she said.

Mammadova also called the decision to hold this event in Baku, which has extensive experience in addressing urban planning, development, and housing policy, a fruitful one.
