The incident that happened in Russia should be assessed as a criminal act at the state level, Azerbaijani MP Fazil Mustafa told Report.
Fazil Mustafa stated that it is impossible to justify raiding people's homes and killing them basing it on any suspicious circumstances:
"The killing of so many people and subjecting them to torture is purposeful in nature. This is a process carried out directly by order. It is also a serious act committed against Azerbaijan. If the state as a whole does not prevent such processes, it can lead to serious consequences within the country. This cannot be assessed as the suppression of migrants. This could be directly about killing people living in the country by the hand of the state."
Fazil Mustafa noted that Azerbaijan's harsh reaction to this issue is understandable:
"Serious steps must be taken to protect our citizens and compatriots. This is an action contrary to the spirit of strategic long-term relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. This is also another manifestation of the same mentality shown after the passenger plane crash. Those who lost their lives there are dear people to us, our compatriots. It is unacceptable and a humanitarian crime for such an act to be committed through state structures against citizens living there. Those who committed this crime must definitely be held accountable."
