Emin Huseynov: Aghdam transforms from symbol of destruction into symbol of peace

Once described as a symbol of destruction and sorrow and known as the "Hiroshima of the Caucasus," today Aghdam is becoming a symbol of peace, security and confidence in the future, Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts, said.

According to Report, speaking at an event held at the Aghdam Juma Mosque in connection with an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to Seyid Yahya Bakuvi, Huseynov noted that the Aghdam city mosque embodies the symbols of Karabakh and serves as an important place of worship and pilgrimage for local residents and visitors to the city.

He also highlighted the restoration of the 18th-century mosque in Yusifjanli village, Aghdam district, as well as the Imarat Historical and Architectural Museum Complex, which includes mausoleums belonging to the Karabakh Khan dynasty.

According to Huseynov, these restoration projects demonstrate the importance attached by the Azerbaijani state to the country's religious and cultural heritage.
