Eldar Namazov: Being a regional leader also means serious responsibility

South Caucasus' leading state carries not only influence but also significant responsibility, according to Eldar Namazov, Director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Speaking at the conference entitled, Azerbaijan as a Middle Power: Foreign Policy, Regional Influence and Global Participation, organized by the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), Namazov emphasized Azerbaijan's dominant position in the region in terms of territory, population, economy, and military strength.

"The South Caucasus is a region where many powers have interests. To be its leading state also means serious responsibility. Azerbaijan's potential extends beyond the region - its influence in the Middle East and Europe is a clear example," Namazov noted.

He added that the factors defining state power are changing in today's digital era: "We live in a digital world where even in the military sphere artificial intelligence is becoming a crucial factor. This shows how rapidly the world is changing. Every country must take steps to preserve its status, and Azerbaijan is doing so."
