Elchin Babayev: Baku's hosting of WUF13 shows trust in Azerbaijan

The hosting of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku is a clear indicator of the trust placed in Azerbaijan, said Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University (BSU), told journalists.

He noted that various scientific conferences have been held within the framework of WUF13:

"The goal is to unite efforts in joint training of specialists for future‑oriented activities that meet today's demands. Azerbaijan's experience is exemplary worldwide. The work carried out in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur is a vivid example. Higher education institutions must combine their efforts to meet the growing demand for qualified specialists."

Babayev emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary training, taking into account legal, social, ecological, and urban planning factors, as well as challenges posed by large cities:

"It is essential to consider these factors in education. Preparing the specialists of the future must always remain a priority."
