Committee chair: Religious tolerance is part of Azerbaijani people's way of life

The restoration and renovation of religious buildings of various faiths and regular material support for religious communities in Azerbaijan demonstrate the state's special attention to preserving religious values, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, said during his visit to the Imamzada complex, Shah Abbas Juma mosque, Alexander Nevsky Orthodox church, and the Jewish religious community's prayer house in Ganja.

According to Report, during the conversation with religious leaders, he noted that under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership, measures are being consistently implemented to protect national and spiritual values, traditions of tolerance, and religious diversity.

Mammadov also emphasized the contribution of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, in restoring historical-cultural heritage and religious buildings, which strengthens traditions of multiculturalism in the country.

According to him, Azerbaijan has never recorded cases of discrimination based on national, racial, or religious grounds, and an atmosphere of trust has formed between peoples.

The committee chairman noted that the existing multicultural environment in the republic demonstrates that religious tolerance is an integral part of the Azerbaijani people's way of life.

Religious leaders expressed support for state religious policy and highly appreciated the activities carried out in this sphere.
