Bashir Hajiyev highlights revival of Kalbajar at Honey Festival

It is a source of pride to gather again on this land and take part in an event that preserves Kalbajar's ancient traditions, Bashir Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar district, said.

According to Report's correspondent in Karabakh, he made the remarks at the Second Kalbajar Honey Festival.

"We owe the fact that we are in our native land today to the decisive political will and leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the heroism of our martyrs and the bravery of our veterans," Hajiyev said.

He noted that, on the instructions of the head of state, large-scale reconstruction and development work is underway in the liberated territories, settlements are being rebuilt and residents are gradually returning to their native lands.

"Kalbajar is one of the important centers of this large-scale reconstruction process. Life is becoming more vibrant here with each passing day, people are once again working on their native lands and establishing farms, while various events and festivals are being held. All this is a manifestation of the new reality created by the Great Return. The fact that the Honey Festival is being held in Kalbajar for the second time also carries special significance in this regard," he said.

Hajiyev noted that beekeeping is one of Kalbajar's traditional agricultural activities and has long played an important role in employment and the economic life of the district's residents.

"These traditions continue to develop today and are entering a new stage. It is particularly encouraging that beekeepers are expanding their activities and presenting their products at a festival like this," he said.

According to Hajiyev, events such as the Honey Festival are rooted in the hard work of Kalbajar residents, their love for their homeland and attachment to their native land.

"We clearly see these values today in their daily lives and in their enthusiastic participation in this event. Their work and attachment to the land give these events their true meaning. The joy on people's faces shows that such events are an expression of reunion with their land and the new life being built here," he said.

Hajiyev expressed confidence that the Honey Festival would continue to be held as a tradition, expand in scale from year to year and contribute to promoting Kalbajar's agricultural, tourism and economic potential both in Azerbaijan and internationally.

"I would like to thank everyone who contributed to organizing this festival, first and foremost the head of state, as well as our residents, beekeepers, farmers, guests and media representatives," he added.
